School-Parent Compact

Rosita Elementary School

2022 - 2023 School-Parent Compact

It is important that families and schools work together to help students achieve high academic standards. Through a process that included teachers, families, students, and community representatives, the following are agreed upon roles and responsibilities that we as partners will carry out to support student success in school.

Rosita Elementary and the parents agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help children achieve the State’s high standards.

School Pledge

We, the school staff, will provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a safe and bully-free environment.

We understand the importance of ongoing communication and partnership between the school and parents through, at a minimum:

  • Back to School Night-explanation of expectations, instructional goals, and grading systems
  • Annual conferences/ Student Progress Reports
  • Continual communication through the possible use of planners, contracts, notes home, phone calls, attendance reports, and school websites.
  • Provide opportunities to volunteer, participate in, and observe the educational program.
  • Provide assistance to families on methods or programs they can use to support their children’s learning.
  • Staff will participate in professional development to continually improve teaching
  • Through weekly collaboration the staff will ensure that they are addressing the needs of all students
  • Assign daily homework that reinforces standards and skills taught in school.  Students will be held accountable for the assignments.
  • Encompass each student’s unique learning ability and address ways they can contribute to society, and encourage them to take advantage of the opportunities that college will offer them.
  • Provide a safe and bully-free environment for students.
